NEW WEBSITE

Readers have sometimes asked me why I don't have a website. The simple answer to that was, because I haven't got round to it. Busy spending time writing instead. But now I know I should be able to keep in touch more. So here's my new website.
Social websites quite often leave me baffled in the way they operate, so I've tended to not engage perhaps like I should. Not that I don't want to engage. It's the technology that's more of a stumbling block. I have a presence on Facebook and Twitter, though I rarely use Facebook these days, more in favour of Twitter. But please if you want to be in touch, there's the contact form, or I check in at Twitter pretty often. Links are also on the home page. All welcome - bar spammers!
WORKING ON MY NEXT BOOK

Presently I'm working on a plot idea for my next supernatural novel. At this stage of the process the thinking moves through various storyline scenarios that it could take on route to the finish.
Sometimes a sequence idea can end in a cul-de-sac, either because it seems not to have enough action, characterisation, or twists and turns. That is often the most frustrating in the process, but essential to spend time on.
Probably, unusually these days, I handwrite the whole novel before typing it on the computer. Somehow thoughts, ideas seem to flow more easily through the pen.
I find this is also a good way to edit during the computer input process, seeing the story evolving again and the parts that need editing, and rewriting where necessary. Then another read through and edit before publishing.
It takes longer to produce a book this way, but I think - and hope - produces a better presented work. Of course, my readers are the final judges of that!
